Great Beauty Cheats

Even though the chancellor thinks we are going to be quids in now he has so generously taken a penny off the price of litre of fuel ... we know better, so any way to save the pennies is always welcome. As granny used to say "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves"  All these great beauty cheats will help you save the pennies so you will hopefully have pounds to spend on other things.

Lemon juice will help to whiten those dreaded yellow nails caused leaving nail varnish on too long. Rub a slice over the discoloured area. It is also great for removing horrid sticky plaster stains too.

Salt is a brilliant tooth whitner and lots cheaper than fancy toothpastes.

Greasy hair and no time to wash it? Dust in a little cornflour or talc, brush out and your ready to go!

Do you need an extra hand when it comes to fastening on a bracelet? Tape one end to your wrist leaving yourself free to fasten it.

Pop your brow, lip and eyeliner pencils into the freezer for an hour or two before you sharpen them ...
For smoother nail varnish, make use of the fridge for a little while ... isn't that what they are for?

If you have problems with your blonde locks turning green after swimming, rub in some tomato juice before shampooing to neutralise the chlorine.

Need to brighten your diamonds? Pop them into a drop of gin ... can't think of a better use for it myself.

Broken your favourite lipstick? Use a candle to melt the ends then stick together again.

Quick fix to smooth flyaway hair when no hairspray is available is to use a small amount of hand lotion, rub into your palms and smooth on.
